About Remote Patient
Monitoring(RPM)

Remote patient Monitoring uses digital technologies to collect data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, oxygen saturation level and heart rate from patients and securely transmit that data to the Health Care Providers for assessment and recommendations. The Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS) recognize the benefits of Remote Patient Monitoring and has been reimbursing for these services.

Enrolling a Patient in RPM

An initial face to face visit is required prior to enrolling a patient in RPM for new patients and/or patients not seen within the last 12 months. Practitioners must obtain and document patient consent.

Medicare Reimbursement for RPM

CPT 99453

Initial Setup and patient education on use of equipment for remote monitoring of physiological parameters(blood pressure, blood glucose, weight). Billed only once per episode of care.

CPT 99454

Device transmission fee for remote monitoring of physiological parameters (blood pressure, blood glucose, weight), billed every 30 days.

Remote physiological monitoring treatment management services, 20 minutes or more of clinical staff / physician / other qualified health care professional time in a calendar month requiring “interactive communication” in real time, includes synchronous two-way interactions that can be enhanced with video or other kinds of data transmission with the patient / care giver during the month.

Services we Provide

Educate patient on device usage
Monitor patient usage and provide patient reminders regarding compliance
Provide technical support and assistance to patients
Notify physician when criteria are met as per physician request
Troubleshoot and/or replace device if the device is faulty
Provide individual patient reports at the end of the month or as needed
Monitor appropriate device readings according to Physician defined criteria
Provide monthly billing and coding document
